Appearance: Excess fat, which is limited around the thighs and hips, with ‘love-handles.
Surgery: With this technique, the fat is removed through aspiration, using metal tubes, known as cannulas, of various sizes. The incisions are small: 3 to 4mm wide.
Length of the operation: 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on the quantity of excess fat to be removed

Anaesthesia: Together with the surgeon, you will decide whether you should have general or local anaesthesia. Depending on the size of the area that is treated, an epidural or even sedation may be recommended.

Description: At first, the surgeon will inject a saline and adrenaline medicated solution. This allows the surgeon to remove the fat more easily and helps reduce the amount of post-operative bruising. Through two tiny incisions, a narrow metal tube (a cannula) is inserted and used to vacuum the excess fat. Finally, the surgeon closes the incisions using dissolving thread and places firm supportive dressings over the incisions as well as a panty girdle.
Post-Operative: If the operation is relatively minor, you will usually be admitted on the day of surgery and stay until early evening. Otherwise, there tends to be a 24-hour hospital stay. Pain killers are administered on demand and you must wear the panty girdle for 15 days to 1 month. You will see definite results as of the third month, though one month later the results in volume reduction are clearly visible.
Observations: Warning: there is no weight loss. Liposuction is a procedure that can help sculpt your body by removing unwanted fat. It should not be considered in the case of an obese patient.
Risks: Bruising and pain. In some cases infections may occur. In general, this procedure obtains good skin tightening results.
